Lecce Parts Ways with Coach Luca Gotti Amid Struggles
Lecce dismissed Luca Gotti as their coach following a disappointing series of results that put the team in the Serie A relegation zone. Currently 18th with nine points, Lecce drew against Empoli. The club announced Gotti's departure, who replaced Roberto D'Aversa in March and finished last season in 14th place.
Lecce Football Club has announced the sacking of coach Luca Gotti due to a string of poor performances that have left the team in the dangerous relegation zone of Serie A.
The club, currently positioned 18th in the league with just nine points, recently managed a 1-1 draw against Empoli, who sit in 10th place. Nonetheless, this performance was not enough to secure Gotti's position.
Gotti, who previously managed Udinese and Spezia, was brought in to steer Lecce away from relegation risks in March, replacing Roberto D'Aversa. Despite steering the team to a 14th place finish last season, he could not replicate similar success this term.
