On Wednesday, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced that South African Gary Kirsten concluded his stint as Pakistan's white-ball head coach due to contract breaches.
However, it has been widely reported that disagreements with the Pakistan Cricket Board over reduced selection powers led to Kirsten's resignation. Thus far, Kirsten has remained silent on these claims.
With the current contract terminated unilaterally by Kirsten, Naqvi emphasized respect for the selectors' autonomy and reiterated his non-interference in selection decisions. Meanwhile, the PCB has initiated the search for a new head coach, with interim arrangements in place for upcoming tours.
