Pakistan's new white-ball cricket captain, Muhammad Rizwan, has eventually accepted the Pakistan Cricket Board's revised selection policy, after initially displaying reluctance. The policy removes his voting rights in selecting touring squads or the playing eleven, as per an insider source.

Sources reveal that Rizwan, after discussions with PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi and senior selector Aaqib Javed, agreed that his role in the selection process would be strictly advisory. Meanwhile, Pakistan's white-ball head coach, Gary Kirsten, resigned over disagreements with the new advisory-based selection process and other issues.

The revised selection strategy was introduced after Pakistan's significant defeat against England in Multan's first Test. Under this new regime, selectors Aaqib, Azhar Ali, and Aleem Dar now have comprehensive powers, making team selections without requiring approval from the captain or head coach.
