Former world number one Justin Thomas achieved an impressive eagle to tie for second with Taylor Moore. Thomas, known for his prowess, ended his game without bogeys, strengthening his position with four birdies as well.
Xander Schauffele showed resilience after a previous quadruple-bogey, raising his score on his 31st birthday. Meanwhile, defending champion Collin Morikawa faced challenges but stayed in contention. Taylor Moore, initially in the lead, experienced setbacks but remains upbeat.
