Maja Stark surged ahead in the LPGA Tour's Maybank Championship with a 6-under 66, leading by one stroke after Friday's second round at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club.

Marina Alex delivered the day's standout performance, shooting a 64 and climbing 24 spots to occupy the second position on the leaderboard alongside Narin An.

Storm interruptions forced an abrupt halt to proceedings, affecting about 12 players. Among them, first-round leader Mao Saigo still has two holes left to play.
