Nottingham Forest Fined for Criticizing Referee on Social Media

Nottingham Forest has been slapped with a hefty £750,000 fine by the Football Association following a critical social media post targeting officials after their Premier League match against Everton last season.

The club expressed discontent over three ignored penalty claims in the 2-0 defeat and accused VAR official Stuart Attwell of having ties to Luton Town, a rival in the relegation fight at the time. Though Forest escaped relegation by finishing 17th, the accusation led to an FA investigation.

Despite their denial of allegations questioning official integrity, an independent commission upheld the charge. Forest criticized the fine as disproportionate and announced plans to appeal after their request for suspension was rejected.
