The anticipation is palpable as the Women's Indian Open 2024 gears up from October 24-27 at the DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram. Switzerland's Chiara Tamburlini, who leads the Ladies European Tour Order of Merit, is set to compete in a fierce lineup, offering a hefty purse of USD 400,000.

This year, the field is particularly competitive with the return of nine players who ranked in the top 10 in the 2023 edition. The domestic contingent looks formidable, featuring notable competitors such as Diksha Dagar, last year's third-place finisher, and eighth-placer Gaurika Bishnoi. Among the past champions rejoining are Christine Wolf from 2019, Camille Chevalier from 2017, and Caroline Hedwall from 2011.

Chiara Tamburlini, regarded as an exciting emerging talent, has already made a significant mark by claiming titles at the Joburg Ladies Open and the Lacoste Open de France. She recently led her team to victory in the Aramco Team Series Shenzhen, underscoring her leadership prowess. The Hero Women's Indian Open is poised to challenge even these skilled athletes with a strong Indian cohort eager to replicate their top 10 finishes from last year.
