Hockey India has announced Power Finance Corporation (PFC) as the title sponsor for its highly anticipated India vs Germany bilateral series. Scheduled for October 23-24 in New Delhi, the event signals the return of men's international hockey to the capital after a decade.
The last hockey match hosted at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium was during the Hero Hockey World League Final in January 2014. Under the Ministry of Power's administrative jurisdiction, PFC extends crucial financial support to India's energy infrastructure, making its sponsorship highly significant.
Spectators can enjoy the games for free, with a digital ticketing system in place. Dilip Tirkey, the HI president, expressed enthusiasm about PFC's involvement, emphasizing the milestone event's promise to boost hockey's popularity. Meanwhile, HI secretary general Bhola Nath Singh emphasized PFC's role in enhancing the sport's reach in India.
