Star discus thrower Valarie Allman, renowned for clinching Gold at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympics, has been appointed as the International Event Ambassador for the upcoming Delhi Half Marathon on October 20. Her record-setting throw of 69.50 meters in Paris underscores her status as a premier athlete in the field.

Allman's athletic journey began unexpectedly, transitioning from an aspiring dancer to a formidable presence in track and field during high school, inspired by her brother. Her rise to prominence includes a silver win at the 2017 Summer Universiade and a triumphant Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020, becoming the first American woman to seize gold in the discus since 2008.

As she prepares for her inaugural visit to India, Allman expressed enthusiasm for the Delhi Half Marathon, emphasizing the event's power to unify communities.
