New York Jets Make Bold Move: Fire Head Coach Robert Saleh
The New York Jets dismissed head coach Robert Saleh after a disappointing start to the NFL season, reflecting unmet Super Bowl ambitions. Saleh, who took over in 2021, struggled to guide the Jets into the playoffs. Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich steps in as interim head coach.
The New York Jets have parted ways with head coach Robert Saleh, following a rocky start to their NFL season. The team, once aiming for Super Bowl success, has stumbled through three losses in their first five games.
Robert Saleh, appointed in 2021 after his tenure as the San Francisco 49ers' defensive coordinator, has struggled to elevate the Jets, accumulating a 20-36 record under his leadership. The highly anticipated return of quarterback Aaron Rodgers following a major injury had raised hopes, but the results have fallen short.
In what marks only the third in-season coaching change in team history, the Jets announced that defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich will act as interim head coach. The team is set to face AFC East rivals, the Buffalo Bills, in their upcoming matchup.
