AC Milan defender Théo Hernandez has been handed a two-match suspension following his fiery protests against the referee in Sunday's Serie A defeat to Fiorentina. Hernandez's vehement objections led to a straight red card at the final whistle, showcasing his deep frustration with the officiating.

The league's disciplinary judge reported that the French left back displayed "seriously disrespectful criticism" toward referee Luca Pairetto. This suspension rules Hernandez out of pivotal upcoming matches for Milan, including the clash with Udinese after the international break and the subsequent fixture against Bologna.

The match against Fiorentina was marked by intense drama, featuring three saved penalties. Hernandez not only had his penalty attempt stopped but also conceded a penalty. Adding to the tension, Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino was ejected minutes before fulltime and received a one-game suspension and a €5,000 fine for his conduct towards match officials. Fiorentina's next encounter will be against Lecce.
