Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced that a Draft Sports Policy has been released for public consultation, targeting modernization and updating to match India's growing sports landscape. The policy, available on the ministry's website, allows input from stakeholders, including state and union territory governments and the general public.

Mandaviya emphasized this policy can serve as a template for states creating their own sports guidelines. He reviewed the Khelo India Scheme's progress and stressed the need to enhance sports infrastructure and athlete performance during the fourth General Council meeting of the initiative.

Key decisions included a 'Whole-of-Government Approach' to coordinate various sports agencies, restructuring sub-committees focused on athlete welfare, talent nurturing, recruitment policy improvements, and a new portal for sports recruitment transparency and data collation efforts under PM Gati Shakti.
