Bangladesh Triumphs Over Scotland in Women's T20 World Cup Opener

Winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Bangladesh posted a total of 119 for seven. Sobhana Mostary led the charge with 36 runs off 38 balls, with opener Shathi Rani contributing 29 runs. Captain Nigar Sultana added a steady run-a-ball 18, while Fahima Khatun made a swift 10 off five balls. For Scotland, Saskia Horley was the standout bowler, taking three wickets for 13 runs in her two-over spell. Kathryn Bryce, Olivia Bell, and Katherine Fraser each claimed a wicket as well.

In response, Scotland experienced regular wicket losses, unable to reach the target. Wicketkeeper-batter Sarah Bryce top-scored with an unbeaten 49 off 52 balls but lacked sufficient support. Apart from Bryce, only Kathryn Bryce and Priyanaz Chatterji reached double figures with 11 runs each. Bangladesh's bowlers maintained pressure, with Ritu Moni taking two wickets for 15 runs, alongside Marufa Akter, Nahida Akter, Fahima Khatun, and Rabeya Khan each taking a wicket.
