Legendary Indian footballer Bhaichung Bhutia has called for strengthening age-group football teams to ensure better performance at the international level. Speaking on Thursday, Bhutia noted that building a strong foundation is crucial for the senior national team's future success.

Bhutia, who has played over 100 games for India, urged the AIFF, state associations, and clubs to prioritize grassroots development. Highlighting the need for U17, U19, and U20 teams to qualify for major tournaments, he announced a partnership between his academy, Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools, and Southampton Football Club to bolster these efforts.
