In a bid to resolve rising tensions within the Indian Olympic Association (IOA), President P T Usha has scheduled a Special General Meeting on October 25. The agenda includes the disputed appointment of CEO Raghuram Iyer and corruption allegations against treasurer Sahdev Yadav.

Usha has been clashing with the Executive Council over Iyer's appointment, which is still pending ratification amid concerns about his remuneration and job suitability. Usha maintains that the CEO's role is crucial for the organization's governance and future ambitions, including India's aspiration to host the 2036 Summer Olympics.

Other contentious topics at the meeting include the alleged ineligibility of some Executive Council members due to the National Sports Code's restrictions on age and tenure. The SGM will also provide an online option for those unable to attend in person.
