Left-arm wrist spinner Tabraiz Shamsi has made the strategic decision to exit Cricket South Africa's central contract arrangement, instead opting to seize opportunities in T20 leagues worldwide. Despite this move, Shamsi reassures fans that he will continue to be available for the Proteas during major international or ICC events in white-ball cricket.
Shamsi emphasized his unwavering commitment to South African cricket and the dream of being part of a World Cup-winning team. He clarified that his new career path would not alter his dedication to national duties, affirming his willingness to represent his country whenever called upon.
CSA's Director of Cricket, Enoch Nkwe, commended Shamsi's decision while acknowledging his importance to the team. Shamsi, whose recent international play was marked by participation in the T20 World Cup 2024 final against India, holds an impressive record with two Tests, 51 ODIs, and 70 T20Is, amassing 167 wickets.
