Multiple Asian Games medallist Vishnu Vardhan and rising star Maaya Revathi advanced to the quarterfinals of the 29th Fenesta Open National Tennis Championship on Wednesday.

Top seed Vishnu was tested in his second-round match against Manipur's Bhicky Sagolshem but pulled through with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 win. Vishnu started strong, breaking Bhicky's serve twice to lead 5-1, but Bhicky fought back, capturing two consecutive games before losing the first set. The second set was a back-and-forth contest, with Bhicky eventually pulling ahead to win it. However, Vishnu regained control in the third set to secure victory.

In the women's singles, Maaya Revathi of Tamil Nadu continued her impressive form, defeating Telangana's Saumya Ronde 6-3, 6-0. The 15-year-old, who holds the longest ITF Juniors winning streak, dominated from start to finish. Elsewhere, Gujarat's Vaidehee Chaudhari blanked Riya Sachdeva of Delhi 6-0, 6-0, and Riya Bhatia overcame Jharkhand's Nemha Kispotta 6-2, 6-2. The men's singles category saw notable upsets as RSPB's Nitin Kumar Sinha beat fourth seed Kabir Hans and Manipur's Bushan Haobam ousted sixth seed Ranjeet VM. In the boys U-18, Gujarat's Smit Patel continued winning, defeating Akshat Dhull of Chandigarh. Maharashtra's Sejal Bhutada knocked out top seed Laxmi Dandu in a thrilling three-setter in the girls U-18.
