Hyderabad FC opened their Indian Super League account with a 0-0 draw against Chennaiyin FC on Tuesday. Despite being reduced to 10 men after Parag Shrivas' 71st-minute dismissal for a second yellow card, Hyderabad's defense held firm to earn their first point of the season.
The home side, buoyed by forwards Goddard and Allan Paulista, launched several attacks early on but failed to convert. Their best chance came in the ninth minute when Goddard fed Paulista, who missed the target. Chennaiyin striker Daniel Chima Chukwu also tested Hyderabad's backline but to no avail.
In the 73rd minute, Chennaiyin's Ryan Edwards missed a key header from a corner, failing to leverage the numerical advantage. Hyderabad FC head coach Thangboi Singto opted for a defensive strategy, ensuring the team left the field with a point. Hyderabad faces Jamshedpur FC on October 21, while Chennaiyin meets NorthEast United FC on October 17.
