Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday honored the medalists, participating players, and coaches of the Paris Olympics and Paralympics 2024 from Uttar Pradesh. Speaking at a ceremony at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Adityanath shared success mantras with the youth and athletes. He stressed that drugs lead to destruction and highlighted the challenge of smartphone addiction.

During the 'Jinhone Badhaya Desh Ka Maan, Aisi Pratibhaon Ko Samman' program, 14 Olympians and Paralympians were honored. Adityanath distributed Rs 22.70 crore to the athletes who brought honor to Uttar Pradesh and the nation. Seven medal-winning athletes, including Praveen Kumar, Suhas LY, and Lalit Upadhyay, were recognized for their remarkable achievements.

Adityanath emphasized the transformation in the sports environment over the past decade under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. He mentioned the state's focus on building sports infrastructure, including 84 stadiums and 67 multi-purpose halls, and introduced awards like the Laxman Award and Rani Laxmibai Award. He announced the appointment of successful athletes as gazetted officers and various other initiatives aimed at promoting sports.
