The equestrian season in India has started with a significant achievement as 14-year-old Jai Sabharwal from The Amateur Riders' Club (ARC) clinched the first position in the Equestrian Premier League (EPL) held in Bengaluru. This prestigious event featured riders from across the country.

Jai Sabharwal has been honing his skills at ARC for the past six years, benefiting from international-level coaching. The club is recognized for training athletes who compete in events like the Asian Games and the Olympics. Recently, Jai competed in the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI) CSI2*-1*-YH Show Jumping competition in Azelhof, Lier, Belgium, winning two medals in the CSI1* category. His rigorous training played a pivotal role in his EPL success.

Overcoming a significant hurdle, Jai and his horse Carna experienced a fall during the warm-up for the 130 cm competition round. Despite this setback, Jai delivered a double clear round in the shortest time of 39.16 seconds during the Jump Off, culminating in a gold medal. The result breakdown is as follows: Jai Singh Sabharwal (Carna/39.16 Jump Off), Saravanan Kandhansamy (Mewrick odl/80.10), Kiran Akhade (Geronimo/86.02), and Nitin Gupta (Leonardo van Holli/87.11).

Following his victory, Jai expressed his elation at winning against more experienced competitors. He stated, "I am elated to have won the 130 cms class amongst other riders who are much senior by age and riding experience. Now I am eager to prepare and compete for the upcoming international and national shows in India this season along with my team."
