Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli continued their unblemished run in the Asian Champions League on Monday, with goals from Riyad Mahrez and Roger Ibanez clinching a 2-0 victory over Al-Wasl. Cristiano Ronaldo also played a pivotal role in Al-Nassr's 2-1 win over Al-Rayyan.
Qatar's Al-Sadd overcame Iran's Esteghlal 2-0, while a 1-1 draw between Persepolis and Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan marked the second round of matches in the revamped league stage. Mahrez put Al-Ahli ahead in the third minute in Dubai, and Ibanez doubled the lead just before halftime.
Al-Ahli now holds six points in the western division after beginning their campaign with a win over Iran's Persepolis. Al-Nassr, after a draw in their opener, secured their first win with goals from Sadio Mane and Ronaldo in Riyadh. Mane's header and Ronaldo's late strike ensured victory, maintaining Al-Nassr's winning streak under new head coach Stefano Pioli.
