In a recent decision, FIFA has banned Cameroon soccer icon Samuel Eto'o from attending any national team games for a period of six months. This disciplinary action follows two charges related to an incident that took place at the Under-20 Women's World Cup in Colombia on September 11.

While FIFA did not disclosed specific details about the incident during the round of 16 game, which saw Brazil defeating Cameroon 3-1 after extra time, it was noted that Eto'o violated disciplinary rules involving offensive behavior and fair play principles.

Eto'o, now 43 and serving as president of the Cameroon soccer federation since 2021, will not be permitted to attend matches across all age categories and teams within Cameroon, as dictated by the ban. Eto'o's illustrious career includes playing in four World Cups and winning consecutive Champions League titles with Barcelona and Inter Milan.
