The Women's Super League (WSL) clash between Chelsea and Manchester United, initially scheduled for Oct. 6, has been postponed. The decision comes due to the proximity of Chelsea's Champions League game against Real Madrid on Oct. 8, according to a statement from the club.

Despite efforts to resolve the conflict, Chelsea noted the importance of player welfare and fan satisfaction. 'We are extremely disappointed with the outcome but wish to reiterate that player welfare and the impact on our supporters are of the utmost importance to us,' the statement read.

Chelsea, who have won their first two matches of the season and are equal in points with Manchester United, will continue their WSL campaign against Arsenal on Oct. 12.
