The Blues are set to commence their Super Rugby Pacific title defence on February 15, 2025, by facing off against the Chiefs at Eden Park—reprising the Grand Final match where the Blues clinched their fourth title with a decisive 41-10 victory.
The 16-round regular season kicks off a day earlier on February 14, with the Crusaders playing against the Hurricanes in Christchurch, and the New South Wales Waratahs taking on the Highlanders in Sydney. Fijian Drua will host the Brumbies in Sydney on February 15, while Western Force will go head-to-head with Moana Pasifika in Perth, per the draw unveiled on Monday.
Notably, the Queensland Reds will have a bye in the opening week. The regular season sees 11 teams each playing seven home and seven away games, alongside two byes. Following the financial troubles and subsequent dismissal of the Melbourne Rebels post-2024, a fresh six-team playoff system will be introduced in 2025, culminating in a three-week postseason in June.
