In a nail-biting finish, young Zimbabwean fast bowler Tinashe Muchawaya delivered a standout performance to secure a dramatic victory for the Jo'Burg Bangla Tigers against the Cape Town Samp Army. The thrilling match, held at Harare Sports Club, crowned the Tigers as the Zim Afro T10 champions, with Sikandar Raza at the helm.
The Tigers batted first with openers Kusal Perera and Mohammad Shahzad setting a brisk pace. Their partnership yielded a quick 59 runs before Qais Ahmed dismissed Perera for 33 runs. Shahzad continued aggressively and, supported by Hazratullah Zazai, propelled the team to 60/1 at the halfway mark. Despite a slowdown, they regained momentum, finishing their innings at 129/5, thanks to late fireworks from Sikandar Raza and Tashinga Musekiwa.
In reply, the Samp Army started strong with Brian Bennett and Dawid Malan dominating early. Despite losing Bennett and Rohan Mustafa in quick succession, Malan's half-century kept the chase alive. However, Muchawaya's final over heroics, conceding just a few runs after early hits, sealed the deal for the Tigers, leading them to a memorable 5-wicket win.
