VVS Laxman Lauds Jay Shah's Role in Launching State-of-the-Art NCA

VVS Laxman, the head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), has commended BCCI secretary Jay Shah for his pivotal role in bringing a state-of-the-art cricketing facility to fruition. Located on the outskirts of Bengaluru, the new NCA was inaugurated by Shah and BCCI president Roger Binny and is set to be fully operational by early 2025.
Speaking to the media, Laxman highlighted Shah's hands-on approach. 'One person I would definitely want to single out is Jay. He has been instrumental in meeting timelines and empowering the team,' he said. Laxman emphasized that the new academy would benefit not only future generations of cricketers but also the current generation.
The 93rd BCCI Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Bengaluru showcased a 17-minute tribute to Shah for his significant contributions. Spanning over 40 acres near Bengaluru International Airport, the new facility features three cricket grounds and 86 pitches. The Centre of Excellence aims to become a hub for nurturing cricket talent and advancing sports science in India.
