England Women's captain Heather Knight has shared insights into the team's preparations for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024, set to launch on October 3 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The final is scheduled for October 20 at Dubai International Stadium.

In a strategic series against Ireland, England's core players gained crucial game time. Knight emphasized the importance of these matches for achieving a strong pre-tournament position.

"We are clear about how we want to do things and how we want to play. We have prepared the best we can and feel in a great spot," Knight wrote in her ICC column, expressing confidence in her team's recent performances under pressure.

Knight is enthusiastic about the squad selected for the UAE tournament. She noted that every player has significantly contributed to the team's success over the past year. "We want to make great memories both on and off the pitch, and everyone is excited for the month ahead," she added. England last won a Women's T20 World Cup in 2009.

Despite the long wait for another trophy, Knight urged her team to refrain from feeling pressured. "It's important not to change how we play just because it's the World Cup. T20 can be the most volatile and unpredictable format, so we need to avoid overthinking and see how we go," she stated.

England is in Group B, alongside Scotland, West Indies, South Africa, and Bangladesh. The team will start their campaign against Bangladesh on October 5.
