Carlos Alcaraz, the world No. 3, showcased resilience in the China Open first round by overcoming big-serving Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard with a 6-4, 6-4 victory. Alcaraz capitalized on early errors by his opponent, who despite powerful serves, faltered at crucial moments.
