A fan who racially abused Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr and Villarreal player Samuel Chukwueze in two games at Mallorca last year has been found guilty and handed a suspended prison sentence, Real Madrid announced on Thursday.

The unnamed aggressor received a 12-month suspended sentence after apologizing to Vinicius in a letter and undergoing anti-discrimination training. He is also banned from stadiums for three years.

"This is the third criminal conviction handed down in recent months for racist insults received by Real Madrid players," the club said in a statement. "Real Madrid will continue to work to protect the club's values and eradicate any racist behavior in football and sport."

The abuse occurred at the Son Moix stadium in Palma, Mallorca, during games held two weeks apart. Vinicius has been outspoken against racism in football. Additionally, a minor who insulted Real midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in April has also apologized, participating in educational activities and paying a fine.
