World number six Coco Gauff has made refining her serve a top priority as she prepares for the China Open. The American tennis star has added Matt Daly to her coaching team alongside long-time mentor Jean-Christophe Faurel.

Gauff, who won her first Grand Slam title at the U.S. Open last year, recently parted ways with renowned coach Brad Gilbert after a frustrating fourth-round defeat by Emma Navarro that featured 19 double faults. Speaking to the WTA Insider in Beijing, the young athlete emphasized the critical role of her serve in her overall game performance.

'There are other parts of my game that I want to work on too, but the focus right now is the serve,' Gauff explained. 'When I serve well, I play pretty well. Already, the little bit we've done has made a drastic improvement.'
