Elaborate security measures have been put in place for the India-Bangladesh second Test match, set to take place at the International Green Park Stadium from September 27, according to senior officials.
An FIR was lodged against 20 members of the Akhilesh Bhartiya Hindu Mahasabha on Monday for allegedly organizing a 'havan' on the roadway before the stadium, protesting against atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Harish Chander confirmed the incident.
The teams arrived amid tight security at Chakeri airport and were taken to a fortified five-star hotel. Practice sessions are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. Nearly 2,000 officers have been deployed for team security, and over 1,000 police personnel are stationed around the stadium. Security guidelines are rigidly enforced, with players required to provide advance notice before leaving their hotel.
