Indian Olympic Association (IOA) treasurer Sahdev Yadav has threatened legal action against the body's president PT Usha for alleged defamation after she issued a show cause notice to him based on a complaint questioning his eligibility.
On September 10, Usha demanded an explanation from Yadav, also the president of the Indian Weightlifting Federation (IWLF), following an anonymous complaint that accused him and other officials of violating the National Sports Code's age and tenure guidelines.
The latest development underscores the ongoing factional disputes within the IOA, with Usha claiming that council members are attempting to sideline her by their defiant actions. The controversy is further intensified by a 2010 doping fine controversy involving the IWLF.
