Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Vijay Sundar Prashanth achieved a career milestone by winning their maiden ATP title together at the Hangzhou Open men's doubles event. They defeated the German team of Constantin Frantzen and Hendrik Jebens in a high-stakes, one-hour-and-49-minutes encounter, demonstrating remarkable resilience and composure.
The 35-year-old Jeevan secured his second ATP Tour title, the first being the Chennai Open in 2017, while this triumph marked Vijay's first-ever ATP Tour title. Despite losing the first set 4-6, the Indian pair forced a tie-break in the second set and clinched it 7-6 (5), ultimately winning the match with a score of 10-7 in the deciding super tie-break.
In another notable performance, Yuki Bhambri and his French partner Albano Olivetti finished as runners-up at the Chengdu Open. Despite pushing the top-seeded French pair Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul to a tie-break, they fell short in the final moments of a match lasting over 90 minutes. The Indo-French duo has already won two ATP titles this year on clay courts.
