Newcastle United's Crucial League Cup Rescheduling
Newcastle United's League Cup match against AFC Wimbledon has been rescheduled to Oct. 1 and relocated to St James' Park due to pitch damage from flooding at Wimbledon's Plough Lane. An agreement between clubs and the competition's committee allowed this change, impacting Wimbledon's match against Crewe Alexandra.
Newcastle United's League Cup third-round clash with AFC Wimbledon has been rescheduled and relocated to St James' Park, the Premier League club announced on Monday.
The fixture, initially set to take place at Wimbledon's Plough Lane, was postponed as a result of extensive flooding in South London, which damaged the pitch.
Following an agreement between the clubs and the competition's management committee, the match will now be held on October 1 in the North East. Consequently, Wimbledon has postponed their League Two game against Crewe Alexandra, initially slated for the same date.
