Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has lauded India's bowling prowess and expressed his desire to see young pacer Mayank Yadav feature in a Test match against Australia. India's dominant win against Bangladesh in Chennai, wrapping up the match with more than a day's play to spare, highlighted their robust bowling lineup.

In the first innings, the trio of Jasprit Bumrah (4/50), Mohammed Siraj (2/30), and Akash Deep (2/19) dismantled the Bangladesh batting order, bowling them out for 149. Bumrah showcased his control, claiming four wickets, while Akash's early breakthroughs and Siraj's consistent pressure stifled the opposition.

Praising the pacers, Basit drew comparisons between India's bowling unit and Pakistan legends Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar, and Waqar Younis. Basit mentioned that even without Mohammed Shami, India's pace attack is formidable. He is particularly excited about Mayank Yadav, a young speedster who impressed in the IPL 2024 by clocking 156.7 kph, the fastest delivery of the season.

With consistent speeds over 150 kph, Mayank has turned heads, and Basit is keen to see him wear the Indian jersey in a Test match. "Mayank Yadav's ball is very dangerous. His bouncer is accurate. I wish to see him play a Test match in Australia," Basit stated.

Mayank is expected to be a part of India's squad for the upcoming Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in November. Before that, India has Test assignments, including the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur and a series against New Zealand in Bengaluru.
