With this win, India takes a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Starting from an overnight score of 158 for four, Bangladesh was bowled out for 234 in their second innings, Ashwin's expertise proving too much to handle (6/88).
Ravindra Jadeja offered robust support with three wickets (3/58). Despite a spirited 82-run effort from Najmul Hossain Shanto, Bangladesh merely extended the game until the first session. India now aims to solidify their lead in the second Test at Kanpur on September 27.
