BERLIN, Sept 21 (Reuters) - Ben Shelton and Alejandro Tabilo defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas and Casper Ruud 6-1 6-2 on Saturday, giving Team World an 8-4 lead over Team Europe at the end of day two of the Laver Cup.

The pair dominated from start to finish, squandering only two break chances to secure the decisive points for John McEnroe's team. Earlier, Shelton was outplayed 6-4 6-4 by Carlos Alcaraz in singles, allowing the Spaniard to level the score at 4-4. However, Frances Tiafoe quickly gave Team World the lead again by overcoming Daniil Medvedev in a thrilling 3-6 6-4 10-5 comeback.

American Taylor Fritz further bolstered Team World's position with a masterful 6-4 7-5 victory over Alexander Zverev. Day two victories carry two points each, intensifying the competition as the final day looms with three points per match at stake at Berlin's Uber Arena.
