As the two-match Test series against Bangladesh approaches, India batter Sarfaraz Khan commended skipper Rohit Sharma, highlighting Sharma's unique leadership style. According to Sarfaraz, Sharma doesn't treat anyone like a junior, making every player feel comfortable and confident.

Earlier this year, Sarfaraz made his Test debut against England, scoring 200 runs over three matches at a strike rate of 79.37. In that series, Sarfaraz impressed with a standout 62-run knock from 66 balls. Now, he is set for the upcoming Tests against Bangladesh, which begin on September 19 in Chennai, followed by a second match on September 27 in Kanpur. The new head coach, Gautam Gambhir, eyes a series win.

Speaking to Jio Cinema, Sarfaraz likened Sharma to Aamir Khan's character in 'Lagaan,' describing him as a mentor who boosts team morale. "He's like an elder brother to us and never makes anyone feel like a junior. Playing with him is enjoyable," Sarfaraz stated. Rohit Sharma remains the Test captain as pacers Akash Deep and Yash Dayal receive maiden call-ups, while wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant returns after a major accident in December 2022.

India's squad for the 1st Test includes: Rohit Sharma (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant (WK), Dhruv Jurel (WK), R Ashwin, R Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, Jasprit Bumrah, and Yash Dayal. (ANI)
