Indian javelin sensation Neeraj Chopra narrowly missed clinching the Diamond League title, with his best throw of 87.86m falling just one centimeter short of Anderson Peters' 87.87m in the season finale.
Despite battling a groin injury, Chopra displayed remarkable consistency throughout the season, finishing as runner-up for the second consecutive year. The 26-year-old, who also added a silver to his Olympic tally this season, achieved his best throw in his third attempt but had to settle for second place.
Chopra, whose personal best is 89.94m, will take home USD 12,000 for his efforts. The competition marked the end of the Diamond League series after 14 legs and concluded Chopra's international season.
