Nepal Honors Paralympic Medalist with Cash Award
Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli awarded a cash prize to 21-year-old taekwondo player Palesha Goverdhan for her bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. The ceremony also honored her coach and team manager. Oli praised Goverdhan for bringing pride to Nepal as the first athlete to win a Paralympic medal.

Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday presented a cash prize of Rs 6.5 million to Palesha Goverdhan, the 21-year-old taekwondo player who secured a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
The award ceremony, which took place at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, celebrated Goverdhan's historic achievement as the first Nepalese athlete to win a Paralympic medal.
Her coach, Kabiraj Negi Lama, also received a cash award of Rs 585,000, while team manager Ramchandra Shrestha was awarded Rs 292,000 from the government.
Praising Goverdhan's efforts, PM Oli stated that she is a source of immense pride for Nepal.
