Karnataka Sets the Pool on Fire at 77th Senior National Aquatic Championships
Karnataka emerged victorious at the 77th Senior National Aquatic Championships in men's 4x100m freestyle relay and secured the overall title with 17 golds. Individual titles were also clinched by Karnataka's Aneesh S Gowda and Hashika Ramachandra. Maharashtra's performance earned them the runner-up spot.
Karnataka's men's 4x100m freestyle team shattered the meet record at the 77th Senior National Aquatic Championships, propelling the state to win the overall title on Friday. The quartet—Prithvi M, Kartikeyan Nair, Akash Mani, and Srihari Nataraj—clocked 3 minutes 28.09 seconds, surpassing their 2023 record of 3:28.16.
The Railways' women's 4x100m freestyle team also made headlines, breaking Maharashtra's 2023 record of 4:02.24 by clocking 4:01.83. Karnataka clinched the overall title with 17 gold medals, while Maharashtra was the runner-up with 6 golds.
Karnataka swimmers Aneesh S Gowda and Hashika Ramachandra distinguished themselves by winning individual titles. Highlights included close races in the men's and women's 400m individual medley and the 200m backstroke, where athletes battled neck-and-neck to the finish line.
