With India failing to progress to the third round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and the ensuing sacking of head coach Igor Stimac, Bhutia emphasized the necessity for a new AIFF constitution, transparent elections, and a competent governing body focused on results, not just social activities.
