The Delhi High Court was informed on Friday that the All India Football Federation's (AIFF) Players Status Committee will retract its suspension order against Indian defender Anwar Ali.

The AIFF's counsel told Justice Sanjeev Narula that the committee would re-evaluate the case on Saturday, with a comprehensive order to follow post-hearing.

The court was addressing petitions filed by Ali and his current team, East Bengal, along with parent club Delhi FC, challenging the committee's decision.

In its September 10 order, the AIFF had imposed a four-month suspension on Anwar Ali and demanded Rs 12.90 crore in compensation for Mohun Bagan. It also banned Delhi FC and East Bengal from player registrations for two transfer windows.

Justice Narula questioned the AIFF over the lack of detailed reasoning from the committee's initial decision and urged for a fresh hearing. The AIFF counsel confirmed that the committee would revisit the issue.

Mohun Bagan had initially complained about Ali's transfer to East Bengal. Ali, who was pivotal in Mohun Bagan's ISL Shield-winning campaign, faced significant penalties from the AIFF's initial ruling.
