Boavista's goalkeeping crisis deepened as both their first-choice goalkeeper Joao Goncalves and his backup, Luis Pires, sustained serious knee injuries during a training session.

The club announced that Goncalves and Pires ruptured their anterior cruciate ligaments and will require surgery, sidelining them for an extended period.

With the absence of their top goalkeepers, 17-year-old Tome Sousa, who has never appeared at senior level, is set to start in upcoming matches against Estrela da Amadora and Benfica.
