Afghanistan all-rounder Rashid Khan will return from a back injury in this month's three-match one-day series against South Africa. However, batter Ibrahim Zadran will be sidelined due to an ankle sprain, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on Thursday.
Khan, who missed the one-off test against New Zealand due to his injury, is set to rejoin the squad for the upcoming series. The test match in India's Greater Noida was washed out for the fourth consecutive day.
Additionally, bowler Naveed Zadran, also out of the New Zealand test with a side strain, will return to the squad. Afghanistan will host the ODIs against South Africa at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the United Arab Emirates on Sept. 18, 20, and 22.
