Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has secured a new contract that ties him to the Premier League club until 2027, according to a source closely linked to the negotiations. The official announcement is yet to be made, and the person spoke under the condition of anonymity.
Since joining Arsenal in December 2019, Arteta has elevated the team into a formidable competitor against Manchester City, finishing second in the past two seasons. His previous contract was nearing its end this season, sparking rumors of his potential move to Manchester City as Pep Guardiola's successor.
At 42, the Spanish coach and former assistant to Guardiola at City, took over from Unai Emery and clinched the FA Cup in his debut season with Arsenal. Despite leading the league for 248 days two seasons ago, Arteta's squad was edged out by City. Last season, Arsenal came even closer but fell just two points short on the final day of the title race.
