Second-seeded Danielle Collins was ousted in the second round of the Guadalajara Open on Wednesday, while third seed Victoria Azarenka withdrew from her match due to an injury.

Qualifier Olivia Gadecki, ranked No. 152, caused a major upset with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Collins, securing a spot in the quarterfinals of an elite WTA tournament for the first time in her career. Gadecki had previously bested former U.S. Open champion Sloane Stephens in the first round.

Meanwhile, two-time major winner and former No. 1-ranked Victoria Azarenka retired from her match against Kamilla Rakhimova due to a right shoulder injury after trailing 6-2, 3-0 in the second set.

Rakhimova is set to play Camila Osorio next. Osorio rallied from a 0-5 deficit in the third set to defeat seventh-seeded Veronika Kudermetova 7-6, 6-7 (2), 7-5 in a marathon match lasting 3 hours and 21 minutes.
