Former England cricketer Moeen Ali expressed confidence in head coach Brendon McCullum's ability to elevate white-ball captain Jos Buttler's performance. Moeen, who recently announced his retirement from international cricket after the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, believes McCullum's approach will bring out Buttler's best.

Phil Salt is set to lead England in the upcoming T20I series against Australia, as current skipper Jos Buttler is sidelined with a calf injury. Buttler's participation in the five-game ODI series remains uncertain. Speaking to Sky Sports, Moeen highlighted McCullum's potential to invigorate Buttler, enabling him to excel on the field.

'Brendon has been there and done it,' Moeen remarked. 'His experience and energy are invaluable. Jos has a lot on his plate with batting, wicketkeeping, and captaining. Brendon will help alleviate some of that pressure, allowing Jos to focus on his game.' The T20I series will kick off in Southampton on September 11, followed by matches in Cardiff on September 13 and Manchester on September 15.

England's T20I squad includes Phil Salt (C), Jofra Archer, Jacob Bethell, Brydon Carse, Jordan Cox, Sam Curran, Josh Hull, Will Jacks, Liam Livingstone, Saqib Mahmood, Dan Mousley, Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid, Reece Topley, and John Turner.
