New Zealand has officially announced their squad for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup, featuring a mix of youth and experience. Assistant coach Craig McMillan shared his excitement for the tournament, acknowledging the team is not considered favorites but expressing confidence in the squad's capabilities.

McMillan, who joined the Kiwi coaching group earlier this year, faced a challenging start with series losses to England. Despite these setbacks, Sophie Devine will lead the team, marking her ninth consecutive T20 World Cup appearance. The 35-year-old captain hopes to clinch the title that has eluded New Zealand since 2009 and 2010.

The squad also boasts seasoned players such as Suzie Bates, Lea Tahuhu, and Amelia Kerr. New Zealand is set to compete in Group A against formidable opponents like Australia, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Ahead of the main tournament, the Kiwis will play warm-up matches against South Africa and England.
