The opening day of the 14th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2024 saw emphatic victories for several teams. Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Hockey Chandigarh, Hockey Maharashtra, Manipur Hockey, and Hockey Punjab triumphed in their respective matches, while Hockey Bihar and Hockey Mizoram played to a draw.

Hockey Madhya Pradesh overwhelmed Hockey Uttarakhand with a 9-1 victory, led by Zameer Mogammad's two goals. Captain Ali Ahmad and six other players contributed to the total score, while Arpit Kumar Kohli provided a consolation goal for Uttarakhand.

In another match, Hockey Chandigarh defeated Le Puducherry Hockey 9-2, with standout performances from Harpreet, Sukhpreet, and Komalpreet Singh, each scoring twice. Hockey Maharashtra secured a 5-0 win against Hockey Himachal, and Manipur Hockey dominated Goans Hockey 15-1, with Yumkham Bidyananda Singh scoring five goals. Hockey Bihar and Hockey Mizoram ended in a 2-2 draw, and Hockey Punjab concluded the day's matches with a 7-0 victory over Telangana Hockey.
